Christmas has come and gone and it was filled with wonderful holiday memories. We had such a great time decorating the house while listening to holiday music and watching the classics such as Christmas Vacation and Home Alone. Curren loved helping make cookies, ginger bread houses, and K-bars for friends and family. The great thing about December is the abundance of free activities for kids to attend so each weekend was filled with fun.
Every morning Curren would point to the tree and say "T" indicating that it should be plugged in! The first time Curren said "bubble' was from looking at the bubble lights on the tree. He stayed up extra late Christmas Eve (maybe hoping for Santa), so we got a late start on Christmas morning. We had Papa's cranberry bread with proscecco and opened gifts slowly throughout the day. Carl and Gary made a wonderful meal - aided by the able folks at Honey Baked Ham. The snow started around 2 p.m and Curren did not know what to think about being out in the cold. After Nana and Papa went home our friends Steve and Doro came over to watch A Christmas Story. They are from the UK, so it was fun to introduce them to another American classic.
In the end, the holidays could not have gone any better. Carl finished painting the baby's room and decorating the walls as I packed up Christmas for another year. We were all asleep before midnight for New Years, just the way I like it.
Happy Holidays and a very Merry New Year!
