Since K bars inspired this adventure in blogging, I thought why not post the recipe and pictures of Curren whipping up a batch for mommy and daddy to gorge on over the next two days.  Yes, we will eat the whole pan by Sunday, no judging people. Until you try one of these pieces of heaven you cannot lay judgement on these sleep deprived parents.

The recipe is from Carl's mom.

K Bars

6 cups Kellogs Special K (or Rice Krispies)
1 cup sugar
1 cup light corn Syrup ( yep)
Capful of vanilla
1 cup peanut butter
1 bag semisweet chocolate pieces
1 bag butterscotch pieces

1.  Measure cereal into a large buttered bowl
2.   Combine sugar, syrup, and vanilla in a medium sized saucepan and cook over moderate heat until mixture comes to a boil
3.  Remove from heat and stir in the peanut butter & mix well.  Pour mixture over cereal & mix until well blended
4.  Press into a 9*12 pan.  Let stand in a cool place until hardened
5.  Melt chocolate and butterscotch chips in a bowl over hot water (double boiler), stirring until completely melted and blended.  Spread evenly over the cereal mixture (you could add a tiny bit of sea salt every few inches if you like the thought of sweet & salty). Cool until firm
6.  Cut into bars and indulge.
